Tim Frick City League Fall 2010 - Greatest Success!
The fall session of the Tim Frick City League concluded on November 2nd. This session can only be described as a great success with a record number of 32 people joining the league this year! There were plenty of new faces, to join with the people who were with us last season and came back for more!
The Tim Frick City League held every Tuesday night at Douglas College from 7:30pm was named thus in order to honour and recognize someone who has arguably shaped the success of wheelchair basketball in Canada. The league could not have gone ahead without the support of the Rotary Club who donated toward this great league.
A massive congratulations to all the award winners from Tuesday night, very much deserved!
Thankyou again to Laurie and Conston who devoted their time to not only referee the games for the City League but also to help the players new to the sport to gain a better understanding of the game.
BCWBS are now accepting registration forms for the 2011 winter session. The next session will take on a slightly different format to this one with Holly Tawse joining the Tim Frick City League staff. Welcome Holly! In the winter league, just like this one, there will be a skills session for the first half-hour followed by games in which to practice your new skills.
So do not hesitate to join up for the 2011 winter session of the Tim Frick City League. It’s a great way to get started in wheelchair basketball or to simply enjoy a fun social game. The Tim Frick City League is open to people with and without disabilities so get your friends/family to sign up too!
