Help Us Send 10 Let's Play Kids to Winter Camp

Building snowmen. Skiing. Playing hockey. Having snowball fights. These are all staples of a classic Canadian childhood. Unfortunately, children with physical disabilities are often left out of winter fun. That's why we've created our first ever Let's Play Winter Camp. We'll bring together 10 kids with physical disabilities under 12 and their families to Whistler for the ultimate winter experience, including:
- Nordic skiing in the Callaghan Valley
- Snow games
- Sledge hockey
- Relaxing exercises like yoga.
Behind this fun weekend is a serious purpose. Participants will learn physical literacy skills and gain confidence by pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone. They'll also have a chance to make friends with other children with mobility limitations. As an added bonus, their families will connect with each other and share strategies of how to raise active, healthy and confident children with disabilities.
We need your help to make our Let's Play kids' dreams of a winter wonderland a reality. We already have secured grants to cover part of the cost, but we still need to raise $200 per participant. Just $200 stands between a child with a disability and a weekend of freedom, fun and adventure.
For $200, you can sponsor a child. You'll receive a thank you from the camper you sponsored. For $400, you can send a child and a parent to camp, and you'll receive a thank you from the whole family.
Want to make a huge impact on the life of a child with a disability? $2000 will purchase a special Let's Play wheelchair, which will give a child a year-round freedom of movement.
There are other ways to donate:
- $10 will buy a meal for a camper.
- $25 will fund a child's sledge hockey experience.
- $50 will give a child 1 day of Nordic skiing.
- $100 will cover all of a child's activities.
