On this Giving Tuesday, help BCWBS pay it forward
Last month, we announced the 12 young men and women selected to compete at the 2015 Canada Winter Games. These athletes represent the best and brightest of our community, and they’ll do us proud this February when they represent Team BC on home soil in Prince George. To reach this point, our Canada Games athletes have put in hundreds of hours of training, but they haven’t done it alone.
Behind every athlete are countless coaches, parents, siblings, teammates, friends, sponsors, donors and so many other supporters. At BC Wheelchair Basketball Society, we’re proud to have invested in our junior athletes since the beginning of their careers. Today’s Canada Games athletes have used our wheelchair loans program, developed their skills in our junior programs and attended countless clinics, training camps, tournaments and other opportunities. As a result, our Canada Games athletes will have a chance to inspire children with disabilities across the province to get involved in wheelchair basketball.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising money on behalf of tomorrow’s wheelchair basketball stars. BC Wheelchair Basketball Society wants to take advantage of the special opportunity presented by the Canada Games to purchase sports wheelchairs, train more coaches and increase programs for our junior athletes and our little Let’s Play kids.
If you’ve played wheelchair basketball or have a friend or family member who does, you know the incredible impact that the sport can have on a person’s life. Will you help us pay it forward?
