Telus Vancouver Community Board Supports Let's Play While Santa Visits Sunny Hill
Santa and the Let’s Play crew visited Sunny Hill and participated in an afternoon of fun games including modified versions of baseball, basketball, rugby and hockey. Laughter and carols echoed in the hospital halls as the children, parents and therapists played. Let’s Play in partnership with BC Wheelchair Sports Association is planning on providing a regular program at Sunny Hill for in-patients and age appropriate community members.
The Let's Play Program is intended to help kids with mobility limitations to become physically active early in life by helping to establish the fundamental skills, knowledge and abilities needed to confidently participate in play, sport and physical education with their peers. Our core objective is to promote physical literacy in kids at an early stage.
Representatives from the Telus Vancouver Community Board arrived to present a generous grant for the Let’s Play Program. Since their inception in 2005, the Telus Community Boards have contributed over $30 million to both national and grassroots charitable organizations and supported more than 2,300 community projects. Thank you Telus Vancouver Community Board for supporting Let’s Play!
