This Christmas, One Very Special Book Will Help Tomorrow's Wheelchair Basketball Stars
| Dec 18, 2014 |
50% of the royalties (about $5 per book sold) of L.A. Fielding's book The X-Tails Ski Spider Ridge will be donated to BC Wheelchair Basketball Society to buy sports wheelchairs and other equipment to help the next generation of wheelchair basketball players.
It's not too often that a book comes along that showcases the power and potential of kids with disabilities. That's why we're so excited about L.A. Fielding's new book The X-Tails Ski at Spider Ridge. The book follows several animal friends who decide to ski the "zoober-sweet" jumps at Spider Ridge. They're too scared to try the "hairiest ski run in the world", the Tarantula, until they meet a new friend in a sit-ski who tackles the run with no problems! The X-Tails Ski Spider Ridge was written after the author met wheelchair basketball community champion Nancy Harris and was inspired by her to write a story about the abilities in everyone.
This Christmas, buy The X-Tails Ski at Spider Ridge for a young person in your life and help us purchase sports wheelchairs and other recreation equipment for kids with disabilities. Don't have a school-aged kid in your life? Buy a copy of the book and donate it to BC Wheelchair Basketball Society, and we'll give it to a child in our program or donate it to their school.
