Kelowna Wheelchair Basketball Jam 2017 - Early Bird Registration Deadline This Friday (May 19)
May 15, 2017 The 9th annual Jam is an opportunity for high performance and recreationally competitive players with and without disability. The tournament will host players from BC, Alberta and some US States in fun games to play together. It’s ideal for people of all levels of play. Players will be shuffled onto different team combinations so as to allow everyone to have a chance to play with new people for each game. Games will be running time with a short break at half time. There will be Hamburger and Hotdogs on the BBQ for lunch on Saturday. read more...

Marni and Richard Inducted Into Basketball BC Hall of Fame
May 10, 2017 Fomer national team and provincial team athletes Marni Abbott-Peter and Richard Peter were inducted into the Basketball BC Hall of Fame last Saturday (May 6) at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond. Their incredible achivements through their athlete career were recognized by the Basketball BC community along with eight other inductees. read more...
BC Breakers Missed Bronze Medal by 4 Points
April 24, 2017 BC Breakers competed at the CWBL Women’s National Championship held in Burlington, ON last weekend (April 21-23). Finishing 2nd in the round robin, Breakers faced Saskatchewan in a cross-over game and secured a spot in a semi-final by beating them 59-53. Breakers struggled against Calgary Rollers, who won the championship title this year, in the semi-final and lost to them 47-65. Sunday morning Breakers faced Quebec in the bronze medal game. Small but fast Quebec team had a strong game against Breakers in a round robin on Friday by beating Breakers 53-67. read more...
Aboriginal Have a Go in Vancouver on April 27
April 19, 2017 BC Wheelchair Sports Association (BCWSA), in collaboration with BC Wheelchair Basketball Society, Access Services and Britannia Community Centre, is pleased to host an Aboriginal Have a Go day. Individuals with and without disabilities will have an opportunity to try different wheelchair sports including wheelchair tennis, rugby, athletics, and basketball! Furthermore, peer mentors such as Richard Peter (a five time Aboriginal Paralympian in wheelchair basketball) will be leading the Have a Go session alongside BCWSA/BCWBS staff. BC Breakers Heading to Toronto for the CWBL Women's National Championship This Weekend

Comox Club Had a Blast at Their Skills and Game Day
February 21, 2017 BCWBS visited the Comox Valley Wheelchair Sports Club on February 17 & 18. On the 17th, we visited their regular practice on Friday nights at the Comox Recreation Centre and found 16 people including a couple of guests from Lower Mainland and a couple of new local participants attending!
