Hoopfest’s 22nd Year !
May 18, 2016 On May 19th, 2016 - BC Wheelchair Basketball Society will host its biggest fundraiser, Hoopfest, at the Richmond Olympic Oval. This fun wheelchair basketball tournament will feature teams from corporate and community organizations. Teams have spent the past several months raising money and awareness for wheelchair basketball across the Lower Mainland, and have accumulated $19,000 in donations to date, with the goal of reaching $25,000 by the end of Thursday night. read more...
Prince George Wheelchair Sports Have a Go Day
April 16, 2015 Did the 2015 Canada Winter Games make you want to try wheelchair sports? You're in luck! BC Wheelchair Sports & BC Wheelchair Basketball will be hosting a Multi-Sport Have a Go Day in Prince George on April 25th from 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Whether you're able-bodied or have a physical disability/mobility limitations, you're welcome to come get in the game and meet BCWSA/BCWBS staff and athletes. January 30, 2015 BCWBS is accepting nominations of individuals and/or organizations from the BCWBS member club or region for the Annual BCWBS Awards! The nomination deadline is February 13. Register Now For BC Wheelchair Basketball Referee Clinic
August 29, 2013 If you're interested in learning about refereeing wheelchair basketball, or if you're a student looking for volunteer hours, come out to the BC Wheelchair Basketball Referee Clinic. The clinic is open to anyone over 16 who is interested in becoming a referee. Experience playing basketball and/or refereeing basketball is an asset, but is not required. Douglas College Royals and Tacoma Titans Win Provincial Titles
March 08, 2013 As the expression goes, “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” This was surly the case for British Columbia’s wheelchair basketball athletes. Apart from the awful rain we had on the weekend, the 2013-BC CWBL finals took place at Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam. The event began on Friday March 1st where the Division 1 Royals took another win over the Lions to secure their championship title for the season. Royals will represent BC at the CWBL Finals in Montreal April 12-14. read more...
